This week’s update features a couple young anglers putting an effective presentation to work. One posts his first ever Top 5 submission and the other fills out his 2026 Top 5 limit and culls his lightest fish. Read on for the details.

Editor’s Comments: Following a nephew’s graduation party, Juile and I hauled five youngsters to Lake Storey for a family fishing derby. Three of our kids, a nephew, and my daughter’s boyfriend were the participants, all wielding Senko wacky rigs. Papa (my dad) had offered up $10 for Top Bass and $5 for Top Bass Runner-Up. Hunter claimed the top prize with this catch and Papa determined that everyone else tied for second and awarded the rest of the crew $5 apiece.

Editor’s Comments: When asked for a comment about his day on the water, Jayce said, “I thought that the 2-10 was my PB (personal best).”. I reminded him that he had a 3-4 from The Canal a couple of years ago. It did not diminish his excitement, nor should it, as it was a solid catch.
